Good/cheap 4x6" speakers, deck, 12" sub suggestions

My dad checked out some stuff at EHR (4x6" speakers, a deck) and some other stuff and with install it came to $450. I told him you could buy stuff for cheaper and it be better quality. 4x6" speakers is all that will fit in the dash. What are some good 4x6" 2-ways to go with a deck that is
50W x 4 and what is a good deck to go with them? EHR suggested a kenwood deck. I'm not sure what sub(s) he's going with but I've told him about the: assassin, IDQ, type-R, AVI SLS-300. SQ oriented, and wouldnt want to go over $600.

so you're powering the 4x6 speaks with the deck? if so I would not be spending 500.00 on a sub. The type R is more in line with the price range of your system, and even that is a little expensive (250-300.00) given the set up thus far. I think you could go with Infinity ref series, Kicker cvr, etc... which are in the 150.00 range, and sound very good ( as good as most other subs I've heard, though they may not handle as much power or get as loud). Is there no way of putting components in the doors, or even a good quality co-axial 5.25, or 6.5?

That's what I was thinking with the front speakers, I think I'd prefer 6.5"s. $500 was the total. On ebay, the cvr's and type-r's are only $98/US.

Kenwood deck (kdc-mp4032) feature for feature is the best value out there, as for speakers the polk audio 4x6's sound awesome and are really affordable.

I would say if you want a REAL nice HU go with an Eclipse at bare minimum. The rest is only as good as its source. And these decks can be had for an awsome price. MR2NR is a dealer. And as for 4x6's at a good price the Infinity Ref6412I are a nice sounding piece and wont break the bank. You are going to get everyone pumping there own brands but I carry Blau and Clarion for head units but I cant not even say SQ wise that they are as good as Eclipse. And at the price they are now.....please. There entry level piece is just as inexpensive as anyone elses. BUT SOUND BETTER

for SQ go with the Eclipse for sure, good value for the $ and very clean output. I would have a look at the Focal line for mid/tweet.

Dude, if you're looking at EHR, you're close enough to Burlington Radioactive to find out what those units should be selling for.....

I also sell Eclipse so I am not trying to sell him, I am just letting him know that the Kenwood is a fully loaded deck for the money.

You misunderstood me. I wasn't flaming on you for selling your brand. Just that out of all the head units in the lower price range my fav. was the Eclipse even though I would love to sell him a Blau or Clarion. Mind ya the Blau Keywest and Bahamas are kick azz decks.

O.K. if you're going the ebay route then go for it. I have Type R's and I love them. I would advise against ebay if you're a newb, but if you know what you're doing and understand the pro's vs. con's of online shopping then go for it.
