I say go analog with digi control .... can everyone say DXE? Digi controlled for perfect linearity but analog so it won't a/d and then d/a your signal (use you HU's d/a and no unecessary **** in u'r signal path)

Brandon, go buy a great set of headphones if u need a cheap tonality reference

Umm, I'm going to say it was the amps...

Brandon, if you really want to be blown away, ask to have the DEQ removed from the system...NO eq, just level setting. I speak from experience.

Good to hear you've had a great experience with some of your favorite tunes though. I'm glad someone took the time to share good car hi-fi with you.

Mark and Jamie, are you guys having an analogue war up there in Toronto?

I like the DXE

Once we get that DXE set up and running, if it's as good as we think it is, we're pulling it off the shelves and keeping it all for ourselves. Muuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaah It won't be for sale to A-N-Y-O-N-E .......... well ok, Jamie and Adam "may" be able to convince us, but that's it. Digitally controlled analog........ Muuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaah, ha, ha, ha. Oh, oh.......... and I already have a brand new 8250i sitting in the box still, waiting for a DXE to have sonic sex with. 1.) "sonic sex" has been trade marked by Kankar.

2.) Tom, that bunny is rediculous.

3.) I'll have to start sending up bribes with claws from PEI.

4.) Even super sloppy thirds would be good.

I like digital like a P9, but I like the fact with analog that I can adjust and tune twice as fast than doing the beep, beep, beep stuff.

I find it very slow when tuning to have to change folders, open the eq, beep over to the freq, adjust, then change channels, beep over ect ect.

If your using something that has a small display that won't show you the whole picture then it's even longer. Like the Orion DEQ, or the Audio Control Digital peices

Want digital with analog control but the DBX Drive rack

http://www.driverack.com/

Thats what Mark Eldridge is using.

I wish I had the money Eldridge has

Actually, Mark, I have a good set of Grado headphones that don't even come close to having the detail those VRx's revealed....I've even used the phones off a Harmon AVR-8000,off my new Denon cd player and it never touched the VRx's.

I agree with Jamie though...I LOVE anolog EQ's, no "beep beep beep" crap like on the DEQ and stuff like that....it's a lot easier to just look at your EQ and use the sliders to tune your system...no confusing buttons and menu's.

Usually...a very simple set-up will sound better than any confusing POS.

wouldn't the new Clarion 9255 with 5 band parametric EQ do the job? Its a digital EQ and it does the EQing before the D/A conversion.
