why are they not included they count as local stores just the same as anything else they provide jobs to locals and help support the economies of the communities they are located in.

not hating on the big boxes mer-dawg, just saying independants..... and the way I see it if a guy comes in and keeps buying his stuff from me or turns his friend's to my store, I'll give them all good deals.... I personalize with everyone...... you don't get that from an online site like ebay or crutchfield...

allrighty was just currious. just my 2 cents, and i am guilty of giving deal where they are not usually necessary. once you've gained the trust of a customer and they start to deal exclusivley with you and turn people your way, you dont have to drop your pants for them. most of the time they are more than willing to pay whatever it takes to get what you are recomending to you, or whatever it is you want. people that come to you all the time just cause they expect a deal come to you cause they know you'll drop your pants when no one else in town will.

First, let me say that 90% of my purchases are at local retailers( large and small). Now, I have had way more bad experiences at small local stores, not just car audio, than I've had with either large chains or online stores. It's up to the store to get me in there and keep me coming back. Bad attitudes, high prices and owners/sles reps that have their own agenda to push certain products and diss others are not my idea of good service. Like I've said before many times, there are a handful of good shops in the Toronto area that I would deal with, but most are staffed with rude, self serving reps that could care less about what I want and need.

^^^^ Go into business for yourself dude....I did for some of the very reasons you just mentioned. 10 years later and no regrets. I work hard to keep these customers coming back into the door. They know right away that I am a ice cream with sprinkles kind of stereo shop, not a meat and potatoes kind of store.
