talked to james and he said that they go by the 12 volt published specs which is 75x4 in the manual, whick apparently is what they go by, which means that i HAVE TO be in the 0-600 watt class, which kinda sucks, i may just put another small amp somewhere that doesnt run anything to get me in the class i want to be in, which is 601-1200, we will see what happens, i wish i could choose the class i wanted to be in regardless of how much power i have, so long as i was going up in class and not down obviously

Looking at usacs website it seems they have adopted the CEA 2006 standard.. Which is 14v's @ 4 ohm.
Also there is no 601-1200 class anymore.. Its a 2 class system now, 1-600, and 601+.. According to usacs website that is...

IMO there shouldn't even be power classes - especially in Advanced. Aside from that I would think that one should be able to compete in a higher class than they are rated.
lol - back in 1990 I included my headunit power (ran nothing) so I could be in 251-500 with just 240watts.

I think how monoblock amps are rated should be changed..
For example.
A 1000w X 1 @ 2 ohm mono block amp is USAC rated as 500w's.
While if the same amp where to be a 2channel amp, it would be usac rated as 250w's.
Kind of makes a difference if the remaining amp is say 300w's.. 1st system your in 601+, the 2nd one 1-600.

if you want to see exactly how usac rates your amplifier for sq, go here http://www.soundoff.org/usacinf.htm
click on amp ratings, find yours and that is how it tis rated, if it isnt there, manudfacturures 12 volt rated spec which puts my amp at 75x4 which puts me right at 600 watts by the looks of my mrvf900 owners manual
