I cant seem to get out the hisses when people sing. Just S's though. I can really hear them. Everything else sounds good. I have a Pioneer 7300 with 9000 processor and MB Quart refernce speakers. They are run by a Pheonix Gold amp. I have cheap pheonix gold rca's going to the amp. I can't remember but the speaker wire is really good stuff. I have played with the EQ on the deck, I have lowered the hissing but not enough to my likeing. Does anyone know the frequency of S's. That might help me out. Any other ideas. I was thinking maybe a new set of RCA's(need to get anyways) might help.

It is known as sibalance, and it is common among titanium domed tweeters, which is exactly what MB Quart tweeters are. You will probably have to switch to a silk dome tweeter if it is bothering you too much.

Another wimp? Oh wait, he put titanium tweeters on axis again, didn't he. I guess telling people once just isn't enough.

Yes, supposedly MB Quart titanium tweeters are normally bright, but it's primarily the way they're built to handle off axis response is one of the reasons why you don't install them less than 2 feet from your face or on the dash.

This is a common misconception.
Silk dome tweeters can be even harsher sounding than titanium domed ones. Installation and good build quality are usually more important than the composition of the tweeter dome.

I hate the sound of it. The tweeters are down on the door, and are pointing straight across. Any suggestions on brands that sound good and do not do this, or any way to eliminate or reduce the sound.

Thanks

If you have an EQ, try playing with the bands in the 4k-10k range for reducing sibilence. Annoying I know but sometimes it's not entirely the speakers fault. Most recording studios have "deessers" to reduce just that sound. Some recordings don't have this taken out and any speaker would reproduce it. I notice it especially bad on some Avril Lavigne songs
