gonna be hard to make a 6 3/4" dodge speaker fit into a corrola.
the durango/dakota infinity system had an amp in the passenger kick panel that drove all the speakers.
the speakers them selves were no different than the base system. The headunit added a joystick balance control.

I had the $900-extra Infinity CD/cassette system in my second Dakota R/T. It sucked. The lack of low-end extension was amazing. The distortion-reduction circuitry was decent though as I could crank it up 98% (with the bass turned all the way down
) and it remained quite clear. Compared to the basic factory cassette system (no extra charge) in my first Dakota R/T, it sounded no different. The Infinity 10 system in my 2000 Caravan actually does have some bass to it.
But yeah, factory Infinity systems suck ****.

Depending on the year and application, some of those Chrysler/Infinity systems can sound surprisingly good off a good amp and head unit, but they'll never match aftermarket Infinity.
My folks have had 3 minivans with Infinity to date... the '88 sounded quite good, the '93 was decent but the bass was overwhelmed by road noise, and the '96 they have now with the Acoustic 10 setup sounds not so good. The '96 has way too much midbass and not enough low bass.
My last car was an old '79 Lincoln - I got a pair of dashboard factory Infinitys from an early 90's Caravan and drove them from a 60 watt Clarion amp. Was surprised how good that sounded - I could rattle the doors with them, and they never complained about the power I was giving them considering they were getting maybe 15 watts at most from the factory setup.

i love their tweeters, particularly their reference series silk domes...very smooth and crisp. their home audio gear is good to unbelievable depending on price and model. Can't complain at all about their products.
