jbl or alpine subs???

jbl or alpine subs???

guyz im having a dilema on making a decision between jbl and alpine subs wich one would b better overall the alpine type rs are a good sub but how come they only have 83 dbs and the jbls have like 92 with ones are better???

Both are excellent subs if set up properly. I've used both in their recommended sealed enclosures(currently using type r's), but would not hesitate to buy JBL's again. Sensitivity rating is fairly useless as there is no standardized test for measuring it. I can tell you that both subs get equally loud by ear (may measure slightly different, 1-2 dBs), given rated power. One difference I noticed between them sound wise was that the JBL's sounded fatter in the lowest frequencies, whereas the Alpines tend to be a little tighter(thinner). I like both types of sound depending on the music, so it's not a complaint on either sub. Hope that helps.
