JL 1000/1 vs. PG x1200.1
I would go with xenon or titanium if you want some sound quality. they are pretty good amps the tantrum is a best if you can keep the voltage up with it, it is awesome. the octane line of amps are ok (havent fully used them for a long time) but you will like the others better just my 2 cents
FOR SOUND QUALITY, ACCORDING TO EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE READ , the jl should be the better amp for sq because of its ability to maintain a steady amount of current at varying voltage levels, which is what most cars do , peaks and valleys in the voltage will not change the output or the overall performance of the amp.

Excuse me but i have a bone to pick. Where do you get your numbers from? I have heard from PG employee's that the Xenon line of amps have around or less than 1% failure rate. Yes you are reading correctly..1%! So please, before you start bad mouthing the products, take a look into it, sure there has been some amps that have failed, but think of it this way, 10 amplifiers have failed of 1000 produced (just generalizing). Those are very good numbers.
Just a friendly post, and would like to chat some more if you would like.

Oh yes, and i would have to pick the X1200.1
