JL 6w3v3 information

Hi there,

I'm wondering if any of you have heard the 6w3v3 6 1/2" subwoofers? I'm considering downsizing my audio setup from a single Polk/MOMO MM104 10" to 2 x 6 1/2"...or maybe a single 8".

I have a '96 Prelude SR-V, which comes with a 7 speaker audio w/ a factory 6x9 subwoofer. I've replaced the factory sub with an older Kicker F6x9c subwoofer that pushes out maybe 75W rms. I figured I could use that in conjunction with two 6 1/2" drivers to provide sufficient bass, without taking over my entire trunk...which is quite limited.

Hmmm....I am looking at using 4 of the JLs for mid-bass drivers in my truck....from what I've been told the speakers can be used either way, the enclosure requirements for sub use are very small.....as in just fiberglass the cardboard box they come in.....

One of the 8W3V3 would probably do the trick for you......Probably an easier install in the factory location than 2 of the 6s anyways.....

I did an install a couple months ago using the 2-6w3v3's as door midbass and 2-8W3v3s in a small truck for a buddies friend. The 6W3v3's have spankin midbass. He still bought the 8W3v3's though to get a little lower. I had to seal the 6W3's in the doors. Way better response than just using the door as an enclosure. Something like .13 ft3? I forget. I know that the 8W3's were put in ported boxes built to .35. He was happy with the results that's all that mattered to me! It won't knock your socks off, but sounds real tight, accurate, and IMO amazing!!
