And, with 4 amps, size does start to become an issue....

Also, I lost my contact for "cheap" soundstream amps...
I personally wouldnt have a problem with you running a 3-way front end with dual midbass but you're running different drivers - no point dude. Its gonna sound like junk!

Get rid of the cheaper/worse midbass.

Then get a 2 channel, a 4 channel and a sub amp.

All 4 midbass drivers are installed and playing right now... and, it actualy sounds really good. 2 The first midbass drivers that play from 125 to 1khz are in the front part of the door next to the 4" midrange. The second set of midbass drivers are further back in my door playing 45 to 125hz. This second set of midbass drivers is set in a very compact sealed enclosure. The output is strong, natural, and very punchy.

Anyways, the question here is just about amps, not about the rest of my installation. So, I'd appreciate it if it stayed on topic. I gave this a try, and personnaly, I like the outcome very much. If in the end, I don't like it, I'll work something else out.

I gotta say that you seem to be asking a VERY generic question when it comes to power for someone that seems to know the details of absolutely everything else about their system.

My $0.02 is you take your car to a few local shops, let them see your install and then you set your budget and let them each try to hook you up and win the business...

It's the same as asking.... I want a sub, which one should I get?

Hahahaha...

Good point. The reason, is I have many constraints as far as amps go. Space is an issue, so is power draw, and I'm not too sure what companies make quality "smallish" amps that will produce the power I need and won't ruin me financialy. I'd go with Audison amps, but, those cost a ton of money (around 2200$ from what I got quoted so far). But, the LRX 1.2K combined with the LRX 4.5 and my pair of soundstream amps would be amazing (IMHO). Also, there are a wide variety of ways to setup the amps.

4ch left, 4ch right + 2ch midbass + sub amp
OR
4ch tweet and mid + monster 4ch for midbass drivers + sub amp
OR
4ch tweet and mid + 2ch midbass1 + 2ch midbass 2 + sub amp

go to the Zed Audio web site and give Steve Mantz there a call. His amps are legendary and he has his own line that have been reviewed numerous times for amazing SQ. Very reasonable cost and top notch service from the guy who helped start it all.

The amps are not very large and are also available with a Burr Brown upgrade that increases the sq as well...

They're chip upgrades.... I'm not a leading leading authority on the topic however it's a cheap and highly recommended upgrade for people that want the best. Obviously not available on all amps

do burr-browns come in dill pickle?..those are my favorite chips!!!!!

I am by far no authority on either but is the signal to the amp not already analogue and has been converted by either the deck or the H701? making the burr brown upgrade ( now known as the bad *** chip that i have no clue what it does but sounds cool so i NEED to have it DAC) useless and marketing hype UNLESS you were using the amps themselves to do all the processing?

.....i need to know these things!..help!...and where is Dima with his really cool virgin **** names for things.

Phone Steve @ Zed Audio.... I've found him very helpful on everything in the past and he's certainly an expert.

and ask him what?...."well hello there Mr. Mantz, I was wondering if your amps with burr brown dac's came in dill pickle"....now that would be just silly!

yes, you're right, he is an expert.

I am not. (which saddens me)

But you gave the advice and I was just asking what grounds you based your recommendations on.

Sorry Sirsleepsalot, I'm done crapping on your thread, I just got curious. I'll stay out now but will continue to read.
