The loc doesn't see the amps power. All it does is convert your decks high level voltage sound and change it to low level RCA sound connections giving you the ability to send it to an amp. The amps output has nothing to do with your deck or the LOC. Only the gain settings. Thats all.

 

well seems everywhere i read anyone with a LOC is running into the same problem so i dunno what else it could be

well ya if i didnt then the LOC wouldnt work now would it? hmmm unless i try running a bigger wire...

i grounded my deck with 2 16ga wires and it seemed like it helped a bit..

 

Try moving your grounds away from other stuff in your dash.

 

Line output converters are a poor way to do business. I would only use them for a subwoofer and nothing more.

If I had to use one for highs, I would spend the cash and get a good one. Like the Audio Control EQS or DQL-8. But these are very expensive, the only time they would make sense is if you had a really kickass intergrated navigation unit in you car. Otherwise you can get a really good CD player instead.

LOC can be good just a pain in the *** to hook up. ya i agree its a easy way to hook up subs but who wants to listen to just bass drowning out the speakers. i havent bothered looking at other LOC's until i know this one cant do any better in quality, im sure there might be a ground somewhere that can fix it. cant see how a better LOC can benifit a nav unit? i have one in my car now that works just fine.

 

That was an example of an extremely expensive factory HU probably tied into everything that you would not want to remove.

So, if you want really good sound using a LOC, it better be a good one.

Ditch the LOC and move into a proper interface adaptor like a Audio Control LC6i, it will bring your system to life and afford you full expansion at a later date.
