Looking to round out my budget SQ build. Audison, MB Quart, Focal
Hi there,
I"m relatively new to the board, been trolling for a bit and finally decided to ask a few questions, but here is a bit of information about what I already have.
Vehicle: Honda del Sol (tiny 2 seater targa top)
Amps:
Audison Srx2
Audison Srx3(rears)
Speakers:
Front: MB Quart Q-line 5.25
Rear: Focal K2 165 KRC
The rear speakers are about a foot away from my head in the tiny car. I'm looking for an 8 inch sub that i can fit on the back panel below the rear window, most likely a sealed enclosure. Power available to it would be 250rms at 4ohm and 340rms at 2ohm.
I am open to ideas, but the limitation on size is due to space available, 1 or 2 subs are ok too as the enclosure has not been built yet. While shopping around here, EHR has advised me to go with the hertz 8, Selective Sound said Focal 21V2 and a place in London, ON said Kicker Solo classic. As i said i'm open to other options. I dont think it has to be particularly loud as it will likely be about a foot away from my head. I was thinking in the cabin like Viper/SRT-10 style and not in the trunk.
Thanks

NEW ALPINE 843D HANDLE 350 RMS AND WOULD WORK NICELY AT A REASONABLE PRICE.

been doing quite a bit of reading the last couple days on enclosures and how they can change the sound of subs. Both sets of speakers cam with crossovers that i'd like to retain. I am limited by the amount of space i have for the subwoofer and was thinking of going with a sealed enclosure as they are easier to build. The only boxes i've built in the past have been sealed ones to the smallest manufacturer specs in close to Cube shape. For this application the cube shape just doesn't fit my space requirements and was thinking a trapezoid shape as to gain the required volume of the enclosure, while minimizing the depth of the enclosure. Different sources say different things, but the majority seem to think that as long as the enclosed volume is to specs, there should be no adverse affects.
What are your opinions on this issue?

the other 8 inch sub thread seems to have a lot of ppl reccommending the sundown SA-8. Anyone here have one in a sealed enclosure near Mississauga i can have a listen to or any other 8 in a sealed box?
