Has JVC put a pause button on their decks yet? I always hated that about them (among other things).

If I wanted a great sounding deck that would also play mp3s, I would just buy an eclipse 8455 and be done with it.

I like using my alpine cda 9835. I love the built in 3 way electronic crossover. Nothing beats affordable full crossover control at the touch of a button. I'm not a huge fan of the new slide touch decks tho, Alpine was getting more and more user friendly, and then they kinda went the other way.......

eclipse 5435- i was actualy looking at this one...i don't think iw ould need the extra eq stuff in the higher end one.....does anyone know how this 5435 performs? good? compared to the old deck i have now. would i really notice a difference?

Mizzarty, as for your alpine, its xover, do the new xover work better then the xover i have in my 7873??? is it even really considered a xover in my 7873???

I'm not too sure on the xovers on the 7873, but with my deck I can to full crossover cutoff, level and slope for the tweets mids and subs individually. To me, it just offers super flexibility an affordable price. It would be nice one day to upgrade to a pxa-type processor, but a lot of work needs to be done to the car before I even think of it.

i run the jvc kdavx1 and the specs are damn fine, so your homework and compare with any other unit out there and for the price you might be swayed over to camp jvc.... just for laughs i compared the head unit specs to the alpine f1 and found that they were close enough to make you go whow dude thats pretty damn close!!!! check it out at your nearest beamriders location. plug plug plug.

I used to have Pioneer, Kenwood eXelon, and moved into the Eclipse 8443. Unless you wanna go crazy with something like Pioneer P1, P9
Denon/RF 8250, etc.. I say go for eclipse if you don't mind having a non-removable face or Alpine if you want the removable face. Just my opinion. Depends how much you want to spend..

I went from my alpine, to eclipse, and its like night and day. WOW

the 5435 was late in comming in, so i used a 5415 for a bit, and it was even better then my Alpine.

I love this eclipse deck, wish i could get orgasms too gosh! lol

As for the remote, my volume on it SUCKS! it hardly moves the volume on the deck
