In my opinion the quart tweets are a little too bright... lol otherwise a nice sounding speaker. Personally, I would do the Focals...

 

Which is a prime reason why Quart put a tweeter attenuation circuit in the crossover. Sometimes that extra little top end pays off huge if you have the windows down or have a convertable type vehicle.

 

Hrm... I find regardless of mounting position, the MB tweeters always come out too bright for my ears and quite harsh at higher volumes. I'd take the Focals over the MB's for more reasons than just the tweeters. Obviously just my .02 so whatever sounds best to you... seeing as you'll be the one who has to listen to them the most. If you go with Focal, try movin up to the polykevs 'cause they use a revamped utopia tweet and have better xovers than the glass series.

 

I really don't like the MB tweets - no matter how/where they are mounted. Just too harsh for my little ol' ears. The Focal Utopias sound amazing as well as the Polykev's and even the glass' tweets sound very warm and real. My personal favorite tweeters for the price ar the Boston NEO5T's.

 

try something new, I use to run quart as well, very nice but I'd say there are better out there.. I just might know some

MBQuart tweets are Bright. WOrse than the TN45 when mounted in the a-pillars. I'd choose Focal, of course I'm biased but my honest oppinion is that the Focals are a better speaker.

Kicker Reso's are nice too. The tweet is SOOOO smooth.

 

Just as the title says, which would you buy, alpine type x 6.5 comp or MQ Quarts premium 6.5 comp, and why??

 

my mb's died fast and i would not go with them becouse of that
