MB Quart Tweeters... Is it me or are they shrill?
I have a lower end component set of mb quarts... the tweeters are .75". They are WAYYYY too shrill. Is it me? they are really really bright.
Hasd anyone experienced this from MBQ?
I ask because I'm thinking of swapping out for a much less trebley tweeter. Any suggestions?

For MBQuart you may want to cover them with a phone book or something to tone them down

Dukk's comment very funny Anyways I have always found the MBQ's to be too harsh for me as well. If you are going to replace the tweeters find something with the same freq range. Try and get a silk dome tweet instead of a metal type like titanium. BTW when you say lower setting are you meaning -3 or -12. If you meant -3 try -6 or -12 as that will reduce it 3 or 9db from where you are now.

if you are going to buy some silk tweeters fine.... it is a solution but expensive.
In the mean time try a simple fix take a little tape (electrical, masking or a heavy clear tape) and put it on the tweeters protective mesh grill. just a little at first and move the amount up to covering most of the tweeter. This is as much a mechanical HF filter as a resister is a electrical attenuation device.
If you do this right it can make the over bright tweeters in your life easier to live with till you get a different tweet. This is similar to using the grill cloth that was suggested except this tends redirect more sound.
