I use to own a CD700MK2 back when I believed in magic SQ dust hehehe.

It was the nicest looking deck I ever owned.

I wonder who they got to make there amps and speakers this time around.

These days I am more of a bang for the buck and performance kinda guy and not so much "prestige" and "exclusivity". If I can get something just as good or better for less then that's where I go.

I don't know about availability in Canada, but that website has been around with car audio for some time, and I know many online retailers have been carrying their stuff for some time now. There equipmentt in the day was top notch as I'm sure these are as well, though there was some reliability issues with their head units. I've got to say that the amp sure looks a lot like Alpine's designs from about 4 years back though. As far as not getting loud, that sub looks more than capable...160oz magnet, 600watts rms, and that hulking surround. Anyway, looks sweet, I'm sure it'll sound as good or better than it looks.

I'm not sure if that's a smart move or not
Why not? For a company like Nak, they can go to an offshore build house, get gear that performs well for the same average dollar other companies are paying, and sell it at a premium price because of their name and reputation.

I'm not sayin this is bad, just smart on their part.

Please keep us posted on your build mustaine4prez. I had some Nak and Akai home gear along with Energy Speakers, when I was a teenager in the late 80's with my first part time job at Highland Farms for $4/hr, and my buddy was proud of his Luxman. I also remember paying around $800 for a Hi-fi Mitsubishi vcr. So even teens have the knowledge and money to get the stuff they want, as long as they listen to good advice from old men in their 30's, cause Googling was not an option then. Most teens however like everything cheap, cause they measure a good system by how loud it is, and you can get loud running a sub off a factory tape deck, cause clipped loud is the loudest. lol

Lately, HT seems to be all about Krell, Bryston, etc, and Nak doens't even come up. I am very curious how your system will turn out.
