Need help on windows & Bass
Hello,
i've come accross an intersting relationship between my sub bass and my windows. i drive a 2 seater Z, have a 13W7 with ample power crossed at 55hz in a 2.4 cubes sealed box, firing up towards the hatch.
yesterday while pushing the system a bit with the track 'Smooth Chick' i noticed there was a considerable increase in bass output and impact when the windows were open... not necessarily all the way down, half each was enough to notice this. any idea why?
btw i also have 8's in the doors (appropriately dampened) perhaps that can be a factor...
what can i do to get the bass output not to drop when the windows are turned up?
thanks,
Marco

It's a matter of how the sub, enclosure and car align. You can try and minimize the effect, but without changing vehicles it will be hard to eliminate the effect completely. Try changing the location of the box, then try varying the size of the enclosure.
dumbest, i feel you read my thoughts and put them to digital revelation! my second option was indeed having many beers, selling the car and getting a new one with a new set up! case closed.

Hole saws are amazing they can port anything start small get bigger (a little trick take one or two screws out of the woofer and see what that litttttle port does to the sound...)
These sugestions are great for the 'I dont measure crap' subwoofer crowd
NEVER!!!
please refrain from sultry sugestion towards my wholesome system.
on a serious note, the car is a hatchback... that woud pose a problem, especially with the equipment layout i have.
how about putting some of your expertise towards this problem?
thanks in advance,
Marco
