New Iasca Rules Coming!

I don't think that this is as big a deal as people think. it's easy enough to rig up a switch to change your dual 2 ohm drivers from 4 ohm to 1 ohm. (heck, with a proximity sensor, you can do it with a wave of your hand)

To most people...... that is extremely loud for mids & highs! unless you have a problem percieving what is "loud". and what does loud have to do with SQ? A real piano do not play at 135db!
I could see if the software's bass content is about 70%+ over the mid & highs. It might not seem as loud........ but once again what does that have to do with SQ?
BTW: Adding protection device on mid/tweeters will degrades SQ.

I agree that 135db is bloody loud - my point is that a decent comp set should handle that for under 30 seconds with no problems at all.
A simple incandescent bulb inline with a tweeter will not, in my opinion, audibly affect SQ. Most component sets, including high dollar ones, include them so they can't be all bad..

The light bulb has a sonic characteristic of its own..... and I wouldn't recommended if you're building an all out SQ system. They are used in some of the mid end products like Kef or Bose etc but not Wilson Audio Watt Puppy 7, X-1 or JM Lab Be etc.

The measurement is made with music with your entire system playing as it is judged for SQ. You will not be expected to hit 135dB from 20 hz to 20K hz. As long as you can hit the 135 dB cap with your system without changing any settings you get full points.
