new SQ ride

hey, looking to replace my current 91 chevy corsica with something a little nicer this summer....mostly in the 5000 and under for dollar range

problem is im having problems deciphering if something in this range would be good for a sq vehicle or not

true enough you can make most rides sound good...but yea some rides are just better then others

i guess I shouldn't be using sound as a deciding factor for a vehicle but hell anyt vehicle is an upgrade

so yea something that will sound good with not too too much modification *besides the stereo obviously*

and something thats some what reliable and wouldnt fall apart in a couple months

thanks guys, first time poster btw sorry if I broke any rules

Lightbulb

If I was looking for an SQ ride under 5grand I would pick an 88-91 Civic hatchback. That or an early 90s Accord if you prefer a sedan.

Both can be had in good shape for cheap, will run forever, and are great SQ platforms.

I actually quite like my SX 2.0 for an SQ car also and 2000/2001 Neon can be had for not a lot of bux.

Keep in mind insurance rates. No need to buy a $5000 car thats gonna cost you $3500/yr in insurance.

The Hondas are good choices. Another could be an early 90s Ford Tbird. Could probably get a Sport with the V8 for that price too.

hey how would a older cavaliar z24 do?

http://www.buysell.com/userphotos/0001003511/12282004_12021212136.jpg

kinda smaller, big trunk, rear folding seats

and most importantly reliable...lookin at review sites like carsurvey not many people had troubles with the cars at all from like 90-92

same with the bmw 3 series...but this is alot cheaper

opinion?

I dunno if I'd go so far as to say that era of Cavalier, or any for that matter, reliable. They are cheap and can be fun to drive with the V6/5speed. Not sure on kick panel room but on door depth as I recall there virtually is none. Flip-down rear seats and a decent trunk are always nice though.
