Optimum Power for JL 10w3v3-4
I just got this sub in a JL stealthbox, for use in my Dodge Ram.
It is a single voice coil, 4 ohm sub, rated at 600w peak, 300w RMS.
I'm looking for an amp to give this sub all the power it needs, but no more. Trying to match them up perfectly.
What size of amp should I be looking at?

When you bridge it to mono the good ones will at least double their output into the load, giving you anywhere from 300-500WRMS......
Don't worry about the number matching exactly, that woofer will take more than it's rated power as long as it's clean......

Most class D monoblocks are designed to drive loads of 2 or 1 ohm, this means that the amp will be wasting a large amount of power. A 2 channel amp bridged into 4 ohms will give you every ounce of power it was designed for into 2 ohms. A amp like the new Kenwood XR-1S would be an ideal choice for you if it is a mono class D you are after, 600w rms into 4 ohms, 700w rms into 2 ohms. Add the XR-4S to it and you have all the power you are ever going to need, both in small class D chassis that are ideal for behind seats.
