Please recommend Head Unit for SQ

Here is my system

Amplifier : Genesis
Speakers : Focal KRX3

I am looking for a nice Head Unit but still confusing between these two.

1. McIntosh MX5000 + Bit One
2. Pioneer RS-D7RII + RS-P90

Thanks

DEX-P99RS. pioneers newest top of the bunch unit. offers everything the above listed offer, but in a simple on unit package, better connectivity for ipod and you will get warranty.

between the two listed, I would personally go with the McIntosh.
but then if you are looking for a McIntosh, I'd say go with a mx-406 and a jbl MS-8. (once it goes through processing, you won't be able to differentiate between a 406 and 5000, except when looking in your wallet)

+1 On the McIntosh 406 & MS-8
add the Eclipse 5130 to the list (if you can find one)
Can't remember the model off the top of my head, but there are two Nakamichi models that would be good for SQ. OP, if you have a few extra mins, I remember the same question being asked before and a whole bunch of models were named... I'd look a little further back in the General SQ section if the answers coming up so far aren't workin for you

use the ms-8, put in some decent speakers with proper placement and voila.. you win worlds in sq.. that simple.... even easier, use the stock deck with the ms-8..this peice was designed to work with any head unit but mainly for a stock deck...as far as the pioneer pieces you mentioned those are the two parts used most on the emma scene in europe and have dominated in the winning lanes... as far as the mac. goes never heard one but that 5000 was the pinnicle of sound quality back in the mid 2000s.

Can't go wrong with a Denon Z-1 or even the Clarion DRZ9255 as well.
