proper EQ settings
hi guys. I recently bought the JVC KD-A960 deck. There are built in EQ settings but my speakers sound distorted after a certain volume level. I have a 99 Acura TL and as you know it comes with Bose speakers. I have tried changing the EQ settings by using the 3 user input settings and getting better sound but it still not as good as what factory deck was giving me. Can anyone tell me what would the best settings for better sound? Is it related to the wiring or the speakers or just the EQ settings. I've read the manual and the settings there are very confusing. ANY KIND OF HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Please either e-mail me at m.choudhry@gmail.com or just pm me.
Thank you,
Abi

Chances are that this is nothing to do with the eq, but more likely you are sending too hot a signal into the factory amplifier. How did you integrate the new cd player into the factory amp? Think of too hot a signal like this. YOu are stuck in first gear and 2000 rpms above redline, what is going to happen? Drop down below redline and things run fine again. You are sending a signal to the amp that is more than likely above redline, called the point of clipping.

there's a factory amp in the car? :-S
i just got the Eclipse 4000 series AMP with a capacitor and 3 10" Eclipse subs installed.
and all these things were "professionaly" installed so they should've told me that there was a factory amp.
when they installed the deck first they said the factory sub won't work because apparently it just won't work with the JVC deck so i got the new subs and amp installed.
