Hey Everyone,

I just installed a set of Seas Lotus References in my car. They are in kicks, which are sealed at the moment.

My problem is that the mids sound pretty muddy. Would venting the kicks help fix this problem? I'm also thinking that the volume of the kicks might not be sufficient.

Does anyone have any experience with this set?

hmmmm....
i just recieved my seas ref a few days ago, and im also going to install it in my kick with small volume, so i might have the same problem then.
i also asked a few of my friend who have seas ref, they said you need a big volume for the speaker, and if you put it in the kick is better to put vent because you dont have enough room in the kick.

^^^^ Thanks for the info. What do you think would be the best way to vent the kick panel? Would cutting a small hole in the bottom to vent it into the carpet work?

I dunno bout that.
I had 6.5"s in semi large kick panels and I cut a 2 "hole in the back. I still had problems with the midbass too. They werent seas though.

Yea, vent them. THey do require a lot of space but once you have them in a sufficient amount of space, they will rock...your gonna love them believe me. Which set did you get? The silk dome tweets or titanium?

I got the silk dome tweets. Have you heard this set before Brandon? How did you like them compared to some other high-end sets?

Would it be esier to just mount them in the doors? My doors are already nicely sound deadened from my previous install and the Seas mids should fit right into the baffles I had for my last set.

I was under the impression that kick panels gave the best imaging though??
