rainbow cal 25 tweeters
Hey guys just wanted to check in and see if you guys have any opinions on the cal 25 tweeters... I havent personally heard them but the reason i ask is i found a good deal on some from the rainbow germanium set. I like silk tweets and iv read some reviews that say they are smooth and natural.
They would be seeing 75watts from a jl 300/4 for power and probably crossed around 2.5k? The mids I will be running will be JBL gti mkii 6.5's

I have been runnin a set of rainbow geraniums in my car for a year or so and im pretty sure they use that tweeter. If so it sounds pretty decent and as i am still using my sundown 125.2 bridged on them running a channel per side off the geranium crossover and with that setup there are set to play down to 2200 threw the tweeter. They sound really nice and arent that bright ( which is nice) and are pretty detailed and get plenty loud without distortion.

i paid like 250 for a barely used set with the 6.5 and crossovers. There is also a jumper on the crossovers for 2400 aswell but they go down to 2200. Im going to be throwin my KS 300.4 in today to give them a listen at 4ohm and active via my H701/505 combo. Till i get off my *** and finish installing my hybrid legatia 3way front end. Got a 300.2 for the l6's, got the new pods for them built just gotta decide on my midrange placement.
But i really want to give those geraniums a listen at 4ohm and active and will be tonight.

yes audison and hertz are sold in stores here by many dealers.. some off the top of my head east hamilton radio, natural sound in KW, audio illusion in oakville

Woofersetc is an authorized rainbow distributer but as for local i have no idea but i know that some B&M stores in the states flipped there lids when woofers became authorized.

Wow is about all i have to say... i dont know if its running the tweeters at 4ohm or what but i installed my Arc KS 300.4 today and swapped my 6.5 geraniums for my L6's and set my crossovers at 4k with 24 db slope and zero gain on the amp and the Tweets sound awesome. So do the L6's over the geraniums but thats not what this thread is about lol.
Seeing as the pods i made for behind the door skin turned out a tad to big im going to need to redo them and i am really thinging of doing pods on the outside of the skin to get better positioning but i am a newb with fiberglass and well my first set of pods are none to pretty, and this would be showing where they wouldn't of been seen.
But in short these cal 25 tweets sound hella nice now and they sounded pretty good before but now even at blaring volumes they are crystal clear and not shrill at all, and ive yet to really play with the EQ on the 701 i just set filters and slopes and turned the tweet level down like -5 db.
My Hybrid L1V2's have there job cut out now to impress me.
