Review Wanted: Kenwood X991

Hey all,

In the hunt for a new deck. Heard some good things about the Excelon 991 deck. I've had good luck with their amps and subs, and was looking for some more opinions.

Specifically:

SQ
EQ Adjustability
Time delay?
General Use of Controls (i.e. Are buttons too small? Sub control easy to get to? Are simple things a PITA?)

I like to tool around with adjustments but i want it simple when it needs to be.

Thx in advance

A

Eclipse CD7100 or CD 7200 would be the better suit for you!
No AMP inside on the CD7200 and copper chassis
CD7100 has the AMP without bluetooth
8 volt out
7 band EQ - 5 presets
Xover 6db,12db,18db,24 slopes
Time Alignment is so easy to use with outputs @ -30 to 0 (great feature)
SVC - Volume difference from CD to AUX to IPOD (Very Handy)
Blue Tooth
3 way or 4 Front,Rear, NF mode
Menus are so easy - has shotcuts for menus

NF control is one button and you're there

This is my Second CD7100 they fixed the probs with the CD7100 just after the 7200MKII was released. IMHO the X991 is not a SQ deck - DRZ9255, Alpine F1, Eclipse CD7100/7200 and others to too many to mention!

The CD7100/cd7200 is an all around respectable piece!

Check the build date - and call Eclipse and make sure it's not part of the batches that were re called to fix the cd mech issue! $549 is a good price I'd offer $500
