should i buy this and make a good box ?
Howdy folks
just saw this, and seeing as that tc sounds subs are hard to come by around here , would this be a good deal,

they dont even say if its mdf , so im gonna rip it out the box and make my own .
this is just for a ***** and giggles SQ project running off a 500 watt RMS plate amp inside a smallish room.
I know not to run this ported since it will sound like poo, but how big of a box am i looking at like 2 cubes after displacement?

You could've asked.
The enclosure on that model is 1/2" mdf epoxy laminated to 1/2 oak plywood, they are very solid. Why would you think the box is no good it does say 1" thick and for a box that small that is very good. They are still for sale on the Funky Waves Audio website, and the prices are negoitiable they may even sell the raw driver if they have any left if thats what you want, but if you want the best SQ possible with 500 watts you should look at the Lambda on their site.
