single Sealed 10 vs sealed 12
#11
The 12 will play louder and lower than the 10...I too like sealed will lots of power. The 12 will play below 30 hz, alot better than a 10 sealed. I listen to alot of old rock, I prefer 10s for every day listening, but 12s sound better!

there is no simple answer to your question because there ar too may variables, thermal capabilities, compression, different box types come to mind. those who think 10's are faster than 12's or 15's i would like you to explain to me why you believe this to be true. a 12" woofer in a proper ib application can get you amazing extension over the same 12" woofer in a sealed box. as well some 10" woofers have the ability to play low very well, better than some 12" woofers. the best all aound woofers for extension and attack are 15" woofers applied properly and with lots of power. a 15" woofer can have better upperbass attack than a 10" or 12" and still get low, but the application of the woofer has to be proper and, like i said before, you will need lots of power to do it. you dont want to be overdriving the amplifier into clip, that is the first thing that can make a great woofer sound bad and make it lose it low extension and upper bass attach capabilities. if you dont have lots of power, i would take a 10" ported

Installation of the driver is so critical. Hard to say what's the best in-car until you get the installation issue addressed. We can talk specs all day until we're all blue in the face, but once the driver is in the car, installation is ultimately the critical component.
Next, you'd be surprised how much output a 10" has when done rite. I always like to go back to portable boom-boxes as an example. The output on those can be substantial. Ever look at the shiate little drivers they are using ??????? Having good equipment is important.......... but more important is having the knowledge of how to install it properly to make it work.
