Small midrange speaker selection help.

Greetings all.

I recently purchased a new FJ cruiser and have come to find that the stock system is horrible. I need to change it but my main concern is for everything to look stock. So My plan is to try and find some very small midrange speakers for the dash area. There are currently 2.5 inches speakers there but 3.5" would fit for sure... maybe even 4 inchers.

Question is, are they're good component sets out there of that size? They would be dedicated to midrange only while I would have dedicated midbase in the doors Probably 6 1\2 inch or more, whatever can fit without modification.

I should have around 50 watts available for the midrange\tweeter combo.

I require suggestions for small mirdange speakers, they dont have to be a component per say, I can buy the tweet and speaker seperatly. I just need options.

I am familiar with and know that there are some kicker rs3.5 resolution speakers and might go with that since they can be had cheep and they sound ok.

Thanks.

Hertz loudspeakers from Italy..........make a 2" Dome Midrange speaker, plus they also make a 3-way Components set which includes this Dome mid too.

The Components set consists of a 6.5" Midbass driver, the 2" Dome midrange, and a tweeter (with the matching 3-way crossovers). The tweeter is a 25mm soft dome one too, and sounds really smooth.

If you let me know where you are from, I can probably get you in contact with a dealer that may have them.

They sound great, and are not very expensive, when you consider what ou are getting.

I live in Gatineau 5 minutes from Ottawa.
Going to try and find a link to that set. A 2inch midrange seems like just what I need.

HSK 163 system seems like it might fit my needs.
6 1/2 inch midbase, 3inch midrange and 1 in tweeter. It oculd not be any more perfect then that, I am really glad I asked here. Usually guys have good suggestions.

The HD500 dome midrange is very interesting, especially at 1 1\2 inch. I coulnd not find the system that includes it, seems like it is available seperatly only. But the HSK 163 seems like the perfect fit.

So what kind of pricing?

Thanks again.

Lightbulb

Why not just stick to a 6.5+tw 2way component set, tweeter in the dash location and woofer in the door?

Interesting... it sounds so simply obvious hehe. I will have to give that some thought to.
