Yea, Focal put out an 18" sub this year I seen that somewhere, on thier site perhaps or in a magazine. It's called like the 46K2 or something..I'd have just called it an 18" Polykevlar but that's why I don't work for Focal I guess.
Oh, AC brought out the dash mount control for the DEQ's? That's sweet, I didn't think they were going to be out for a while yet. Finally people will know what I'm talking about when I mention them, it's very difficult talking about something that nobody has heard of.

Icon, was one of those Focal cars a Beetle? I believe the one from BC belongs to Larry, but I not sure. He used to be the big Focal rep in Ontario, now it's Brian Campell. Anyway, tough luck about CES Dave, there's always next year though eh. Oh, one more question, is CES an invite-only show?

The 18-inch PolyKevlar was the first thing I saw when I landed in France to visit Focal. Guy (my host and the Car Audio director) had a prototype in the back of his Mini-van. He could switch between the pair of Utopia tens mounted in the glove box (you need to see the size of that Renault glovebox), or to the woofer in the back. We had fun playing with it... I am sure it went through many more iterations before coming to production, since it has been a couple years since I was there (I think)... They were also working on a Utopia version, but the early cones kept wrinkling.. A little project for them.

Yea, Nicks car and system is up for sale, he's only asking like 13K US for it too. Or 10K without the Focal Berillium tweeters...which confused the hell out of me....your gonna sell a car, then swap out the Berilliums for the TLRs which sound just as good [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img] ??
Yea, I know it's kinda strange that Dave didn't get to go down, Dave's only the best columnist in the magazine. The only other guy that I'll read is Sean Greene, but he doesn't do car audio columns.

Yikes! Greene is LONG gone. He went to was at Modified for a year and recently moved to BC to work with HCI magazine.
Thanks for the thoughts on CES folks.. It's sometimes hard to explain what happens and for why in this world.. I've stopped asking, it only gives me a headache...
