alright.. next thursday if all goes as planned i will be getting a 93 honda civic si coupe which i will be starting my build with the speakers in the rear of the cabin in the side panels beside the seats rather than in the trunk.. and then i can use the trunk to play with for an amp rack..
alright so hear it goes.. what i'm really planning on doing..
i'm going to be making fibreglass enclosures for the subs down by the bottom of the driver seat firing in some direction to look good as low frequencies are omni-directional.. and then up by the back of the rear seat.. im going to either have 1 or 2 sets of smaller coaxials or components.. and for the front i want to have a nice set of three ways.. and there will also be a layer or two of deadener throughout the car..
i'm going to be dumping a fair amount of money into this car to get it just the way i want it.. but i will be doing all of the work myself.. that is a sure thing
and as for equipment i'm not sure of what i want to get.. budget isn't really a problem for me and i'm really flexible on equipment.. i just want it to sound good.. and be loud doing it
for the trunk i want to be able to conserve space cuz i still wanna use my trunk for stuff.. if need be i can get a 2nd or 3rd battery to power the amps..
any opinions or recomendations on what kind of gear i should get? i have a few things in mind but nothing i'm really solid on..
Happy 4.20

alright i could have them pointing upwards and forwards into the back of the front seats then
i'm thinkin for a HU i may go with the kenwood excelon KDC-X994 and i will be running all new speaker wires throughout the car.. for subs i was thinking of maybe going with 2 JL W3v3 8" subs and have each powered with its own amp however i'm unsure of which one.. as for fronts or rears or amps to power these.. i haven't got a clue..
now remember this build is still in the planning stages.. lol

May I make a recommendation, dont bother with the rear speakers unless you absoutley feel that you need rear fill and keep the system as simple as possible to start and see how it sounds to you. Then down the road after spending some time listening and tuning if its still not meeting your expectations then considering adding or swapping out different components.

i'm probably gonna end up making a few different enclosures for the side panels too.. to get it just how i like it..
what would be good to use for adding rigidity to the fibreglass? just like sand fill or sumthin?
