Sound Solution SQ vehicle VIDZ

This is for Larry he hasn't heard his car in almost a year :cheeky4:

DaVibe 04-10-2011 12:05 AM

Saw this vehicle in person last summer at one of the shows ... amazing.
This is the type of car I have dreams about. It should be, if not already, be featured in multiple magazines. It's a work of art.

fozzz 04-10-2011 07:43 AM

I don't think it's a stretch to say that this is the best install in Canada. I look forward to checking it out in person this season.

avidedtr 04-10-2011 08:05 AM

so much fun to listen to. L1se L6se and L8se FTW

Thrill_House 04-10-2011 02:00 PM

I havent yet actually had a chance to listen to Larry's car, perhaps I will this summer.

you really have to leave the east and come out west and see great installs as well... taking nothing from larry. but that dash is horrible.. two massive holes with grill cloth thrown over them, not even finished well... everthing eles very very nice.. you should see daves mazda 6 or dodge neon.. perfect in every way, keiths bmw not one inch out of place.. now i dont mean to be negative but you started it.. that dash, to be world class, must be redone! i see alot of potential. just a bit more time and attention to detail, and BOOM!! a perfectly blended dash to the rest of the car.. everything eles in the car blends in very nicely... for that to be the best install in canada it must be tight from bumper to bumper, and i know of at least 4 cars out west that are THAT tight... other wise excellent job on the car, and congrats again on the win.. ps. did this car beat johns neon?

The videos in this post don't really show off the car. Pretty much every inch of the car has been worked on. maybe Larry will speak up here, but I believe the new grills were designed for easy removal and re-installation. They serve an acoustical purpose as well.

Dave's Neon and Mazda are both in my league. Very nice installs. But this car is way beyond my Neon. I'm sure you will agree when better video or photos are posted.

Larry and I wont be competing against each other. He is in a two seat class, and I'm in a one seat class. And I'm happy to keep it that way!

John, As I see it - Goalie35 will just have to show his face at SBN next year. Bring Dave too, I could use a good laugh.

I had the opportunity to listen to Dave's Neon. It is a very good sounding car. he would give anyone a run for their money.
I know Goalie 35 says his car sounds good, but I've never heard it, so I cant comment.

good point, all i can see is the poor lighted video.. and as everyone knows in person is way different then on camera...

Dukk 04-12-2011 02:57 PM

I don't want bief but from 8-10seconds in I can see what goalie_35 sees. The grilles are too proud of the dash and have an obvious crease in them. The dash to the lower left corner of the passenger grille has a flat spot and it is highlighted by the lighting.

I'm not picking on the car, hell my dash is bone stock, but the *best* will be put to task..

mmiller 04-12-2011 08:29 PM

I have had at least 30 mins of seat time in this Car, maybe more. Its hard to get me out of a good sounding car, just ask Fozz. :)

I never seen any issues with the dash at all, maybe this was changed since I was in it last, or maybe its just the lighting. I am not sure.

This is easily one of the best sounding, and put together cars around... PERIOD!

Lord Huggington 04-13-2011 04:21 AM

Is that a buick regal?

avidedtr 04-13-2011 06:00 AM

Yes indeed it is

Lord Huggington 04-13-2011 10:56 AM

Cool, there's one in my driveway.

I like the location of the fuses, that's very practical.

Are you's talking about the "/\/\/\/\/\"-looking dash? They don't look even, is there a reason?

Father Yuli 04-13-2011 11:54 AM

this car is sick in every aspect. i'll beat up anyone who thnks or says otherwise. period.

can we please get the list of all gear?

yes please inform us on his hybrid and arc audio gear, because as we all know its the amps that make a system sound great..
for you young kids. we have had this going on for yrs. to win at iasca you had to run the flavor of the yr gear... first it was ppi amps mb quart m/t and jl audio subs.. then it was rockford amps and kicker subs. then it was pheonix gold amps with boston aqustic speakers.. now the flavor of the yr is hybrid. arc.. i dont hate hybrid or arc. just the stupid comments like my arc made my system sound better, or my speakers are the real difference in the system.. amps dont have a sonic character to them. ask any engineer.. everyone of them says they dont, but the normal everyday people that buy said amps say they do.. well after working with an amp engineer i can saftly say amps have no noticible to the human ear signature sound.... and as far as choice of speakers.. its been well documented that placement is way more important than the gear, its nice to start with good equipment, but great gear installed poorly will sound worse than junk put in correctly.. so is arc a good amp? yes good build quality, sound design, good parts inside, and reliable.. i have looked at the pc board and like the layout and components used, is hybrid a good speaker, yes does alot well there is worse and there is better. the reviews by the pros are mixed but thats to be expected.. i have said it befor and i will say it again.. your small group jason, gilian, john, louis, all have cars built so well that you can drop in any reputable brand of speaker, and any amp and it will still sound wicked..
now as far as going to sbn thats a week off work, and around 10k to due the show.. thats why i wasent down there last month, and i bought two skidoos, but i plan on being there next yr.. my car competes against daves neon and mazda, and beats them, against bills altima. and kieths bmw. without hearing my car and seeing the install all comments should be reserved untill seen and heard.. just a courtesy call...

why does west have sooooooooooooo many haters? damn.

Lord Huggington 04-13-2011 01:24 PM

Soooo what do the rims look like? Regals are ballin', but my moms looks like hell with small winter tires & rims.

Total invested?

Are those 8's or 10's free-air? SVC/DVC yada (I want to model the response)?

Does the trunk rattle?

The build took a year eh?

This is "Sound Solution Audio" work? I thought that was just a brand?

Sweet song.

Compasion grace and forgivness were Jesus main attributes. your post have demonstrated that you posses none of these attributes. plese read these passeges.. proverbs 17:14-15 and ecclesisastes 7:9
my pokes are directed at building a rivalry against , which i have openly stated, the best cars in the world, i will not kiss anyones butt. and whats wrong with that, in my last post i never once bashed any one or product.. you actually jumped down my throat.. some of the greatest rivalries are the leafs vs canadians, or russia vs canada, ect.. do you think there is no trash talk between them, i make my comments and i get them back.. do i take them personally, no its good clean fun. and until we compete against each other all i can go on are scores how about being a part of the rivalry instead of a hotheaded cromagnian, trogleoditick neandrethal.

you must have me confused with your cock - small, little fag. either your imagination is very vivid, or you are talking about someone else.

but hey, dont take that personally, it's just good, clean fun. or whatever your said there.

go look in the mirror and laugh. telling me you'd fight me, and then writing something about the Bibble and calling me a keyboard warrior?

do you hear that? listen.......that's the sound of the circus leaving, you better catch up, clown.

nothing personal tho, all in good, clean fun.

you know how I know you are a moron? you are trying to use big words that are waaaaaaaay too big for you.

cromagnian - I did not find that word in two dictionaries. Try again.

trogleoditick - no such word....... did you mean "troglodytic"?

neandrethal - lol, did you mean "neanderthal"?

having fun yet?

PS. teaching Father the Bible? pfffffff

Just wanted to post so I can say I was here BEFORE it gets shut down. :cheeky4:

goalie 35 04-13-2011 07:40 PM

i said i hate keyboard warriors and if we meat at a car show i will introduce myself to you.and then we will see how tough you are... i have found that most if not all tough guys behind a keyboard shut up once confronted face to face..
sorry about the spelling at work and i dont use a dictonary..
cromagnian.. prehistoric man' spelling is cromagnon. singular i used it plural. trogleodite.. cave dwelling prehistoric man
neanderthal... extinct member of the human race from europe or westrn asia..
if the best you can hammer me on is spelling, i can accept that..
i bash on product only never people nor have i ever called anyone out like you did to me.. so please dont try to patronized me with your stupidity. not my fault you dont understand english. now to quote someone on this thread.. never argue with an idiot as they will bring you down to there level and beat you with experience.. so to you sergeivich, you win iam out on this thread...

avidedtr 04-13-2011 09:08 PM

the western coolaid may be spiked or something, jesus - Yuli FTW!

fozzz 04-13-2011 09:19 PM

So, nice weather we're having!

Most of what Goalie said is correct. Placement should be tops on every cars list. path lengths should be of obvious concern.
The gear you choose is the limiting factor of the sound of your car. Understandably, do everything you can in all areas.
I've won the IASCA World finals 3 times. Each time I was using different gear, but it was always good quality equipment. At no time do I feel I won because I was using the flavor of the month gear. Good judges are blind!
Hybrid Audio dosent make good gear, they make great gear and have the best customer support Ive ever seen. There are lots of good brands to choose from, Hybrid should be on everyone's list t audition.
The fact that the brand is new and popular means ther will be haters. I understand that and accept it.

icebird88 04-13-2011 09:58 PM

WELL guys all I can say is you would not be saying the things you are if you saw the car in person. The video does this install no Justice. PERIOD!!!!!!!

I can guarantee you there are no flaws, gaps or inconsistencies with the dash of this car. The best part of the dash is the INNOVATION AND DESIGN OF THE DASH due to the ability to access all components quickly and that includes the complete removal of the dash.

The grills do serve an acoustical purpose to the sound system and yes they do remove. If you look closely the grills actually contour with the shape of the dash.

The car is a work of art and if your lucky maybe one day you can see it in person.

The best part is it sounds as good as it looks....and ALL I CAN SAY IS....I WISH IT WERE IN MY DRIVEWAY.

Allan74 05-04-2011 12:21 PM

The Car
From the little bit of video shown, it's clear that the trunk is beautiful and a work of art. Unfortunately the dash does not show well in the video, although may be a different story in person as has been stated.

The Equipment
I have nothing bad to say about ARC, but my feelings towards Hybrid Audio are well known and I am a firm believer in the fact that ANYONE who runs with and competes AND WINS using Hybrid Audio would be able to do so using ANY top brand. The Winners rarely change, only the flavour of equipment.

Generally, 2 of the Gayest things in Car Audio....
The 'music' used to demo an SQ vehicle and the sacrificing of a Driver's footwell, leaving barely enough room for 2 feet inside of it to operate the car's pedals safely, just to fit midbass drivers in the kicks.

mmiller 05-04-2011 03:11 PM

I didn't know the "Dave Mathews band" was for fags....

LOL....no, sorry. That's not what I meant. It was directed more towards the best 'SQ' music being something different than you would let someone catch you listening to at a set of lights without feeling odd about it. I was just issuing a blanket statement of sorts....hehe, although Dave Mathews is definately not my music of choice. My wife and I do have a friend that suffers from 'The Gay' and he loves Dave Mathews....just saying ;)

JohnVroom 05-04-2011 07:56 PM

OK so the thread was jacked and smack has been brought. I think much of the bitchin is absolute silliness. The car looks to be high quality throughout it sounds as good as my laptop ever has... the build obviously took a lot of time and money and is one of the niftiest around
as far as the equipment goes ... it is top notch and that is part and parcel with that type of build. One of the fundamental pieces of the Hybrid Audio pie is that good equipment needs good installation one that maximizes proper system design (which the hybrid installers and team members utilize).
And like Allen74 said you can also do the same thing with any number of other products and get similar results with other high quality high resolution products (inexpensive or expensive), I am not trying to take anything away from HAT, but installation and equipment need to optimize each other ... and ya know I have never heard a car audio system sound bad due to arc audio amps, and I have listened to many... I like the company and equipment. The hybrid/ arc connection seems a little overplayed but it works well and has proven itself in the lanes. As a competitor I always shunned fads and 'the routine' installation, but the other side of the coin is good equipment, in a well engineered and executed installation tends to win.

fozzz 05-04-2011 08:49 PM

I don't care what equipment the car has. The install is awesome. I may be sponsored by the same companies, but it has nothing to do with the work done on this car. It really is an amazing install.

I was actually done after my Rogaine/Waddling comment.

To tell you the truth, it's good to see that you left the 'Keyboard Warrior' pic up above, as it got me thinking.......Add a little facial hair, remove a little hair from the head and make him about a foot shorter and VOILA! Throw him in front of a Honda Fit and it looks just like someone people around here might know.

I myself am 6'1" and have a full head of beautiful hair, so I unfortunately don't qualify on either point.
