sounds good

First I would ask you a question;
what does 'great' sound like?
My point is what does a system have to do to musically satisfy you? This should be a relatively easy answer, since the system you have is falling short of your ideal. Once you know what it should do (the 'great' definition), and what it is your current system doesn't do right then you can start going in that direction.
My guess is you have heard a stereo that performs a certain way and that is your ideal system.

lm guessing you dont compete. it would and should suck to mess around and have no purpose to your goal.do you really think friends and family care.
all summer l was you. on weekends l would get my efforts judged, thats not you.sorry to be harsh, but if your going to complain then take your lumps.
maybe get into tuner jam, now thats time well spent.

^ Well there's an interesting reply.
Sooo he has to compete to validate his efforts? why?
I don't know any ling time competitor who does not build their rig for themselves first and competition second. Those that do will be around one, maybe two, seasons and then they are gone. As well, some of the best sounding cars in the world never go near a competition lane..

the light at the end of the tunnel is competing. not sure your efforts are making a difference, let a judge decide.
the more guys that stay in thier garage, the more guys will say remember when there use to be audio shows.
lastly how do you even know what sounds good, has the guy even heard another car. go to a show and listen to others , get inspired.
go places your garage cant take you.
