Speakers make noises when truck runs.
#1
Im having a problem with the stereo in my truck. When I run it off the battery, without the engine going. It works fine. Sounds clear as day... However, when I start the truck, some of my speakers start to make buzzing noises. Not all of them, just one of the rear ones, and one of the front ones... Also, my sub makes like farting noises when i play music through it, haha. All this is only when the truck is started. Like I said, it works fine when playing just off the battery... What could be the cause of this? Thanks in advance.

It's called a engine whine. Check over your RCA's and make sure that your speaker wire isn't coming close to any high current power wire. If that's not the case check all your grounds.
Chances are good it's one of the above.

it won't necasarly go louder or quieter with engine speed. just the pich may change. regardless of this it probably just a potential difference in impedance from the deck to amp grounds! fact of the matter is u will have to do a little work to get rid of the noise problem! No quick fixes for noise.

ya i was ganna say using a grounding loop,
or without running the wires, just used another RCA cable, listen if its still there or not... if the noice is gone then u'r old RCA's could have had the shields pierced and now its rubbing up against some metal, which would explain why it changes pitch with acceleration. i just worked on a camero with the same problems turns out a screw for the kick went right inbetween the RCA's and puntured the outer lining of the cable, took me 45-hour to find the ****ing problem too :P
