SQ Sub Setup help
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone here would be able to help me design a Sub box/enclosure designed for SQ. I have two 12” Kaption SPL subs; I realize they are for SPL because when I got them years ago that’s what they were intended for. Now I'm going SQ and need to do the best that I can with what I have.
I'm very capable of fabricating it on my own just need some help or advice on how to make it as good as possible. Also need help with volume and what it should be.
Thank you for your help guys.
Frank

On paper it looks like it could be a pretty decent SQ sub.
In 1.25 cubic feet sealed, roll off is nice and should sound pretty linear. Qtc is also 0.707.
I dont like how the Fs is so high though (typical of a SPL sub) at 38Hz.
While not ideal it should still suprise you.
I'm assuming model is the SPL-1200 btw.
Best of luck,
-Ross

Thanks Ross,
yes it is an SPL 1200 SVC, but of course the Sub is a few years old and the models haven't changed so i'm going to assume the volume should still be the same for sealed application. On the website it says sealed .8 to 1 cubic foot.
Where did you get the 1.25 or is that with the sub inside the box.
