Dave, I recommend Pioneer because it's what I know. The same goes for the retailers out there giving suggestions. Why or how could they recommend something they're not familiar with?
If you noticed, I also referred him to a dealer that also sells Rockford, Alpine, Clarion, Bazooka & others. It's then up to the sales staff to help him find the product that works best for his application.

pioneer guy, there isnt another woofer or brand that you have used over the years that you could recommend, you used to sell eclipse, alpine and boston coustics all companies that make good woofers, and yes, you did pick a retailer that sells other gear than pioneer. i specifically made a point of recommending woofers that i dont sell, for this very reason
sr sq, there are alot of different woofer available that will work great for you. i would, if i were you, take soem cd's down to a few stores, ask alot of questions in reagrds to the type of music you listen to and the size box you can fit and so on and purchase the woofer that best suits your tastes, if you dont get the info you are looking for from the retailer you visit move on and go elsewhere, there is a ton of options out there for you, half the fun is in explorong them, i see you are in maple ridge, if you want to go and get some advice from some very good installers, go to evolution audio, they are in your area, very informed guys, and great installers, for the record , there is not benefit for me recommending evolution.
