Subwoofers...

I am looking for a nice system to put in my car. I already have some Eclipse components and coaxials powered by a Eclipse amp.

I need to put in 2 12" subs. I am mainly looking for sound quality, but I also want it to pound.

Anyone have any suggestions, and what amp I should use with that?

***Not looking to spend more than $1200 on both subs and amp***

Eclipse SW7200 aluminum cone 12's and a nice mono amp to make them wail. This will for sure deliver tonal response and respectable volume levels at the same time. Keep the box size to a maximum of 2.75 cu.ft. gross internal volume.

I'd recomend the Kicker CVR 12's....and maybe a Rockford of some kind for amp.

I have a CVR 12 in a Kicker prefab box and a Rockford 301S and hit 130ish all day long(only 3-400WRMS)

If you're interested, I've got a JBL monoblock I'll give up BRIB never used, for $200, should make around 500WRMS at 4ohms.

Help me decide.

Ok so I narrowed it down to 2 systems:

JVC KD-NX5000 is the head-unit I will be using.

1. Eclipse

SC6500 Components for the front
SC6900 Components for the back
XA400 4-Channel amplifier
(2) SW7200 Subwoofers
***Still need a amplifier for the subwoofers.***

2. Orion

HP4800 4-Channel amplifier
C2.52 Components for the front
C2.69 Coaxials for the back
(2) HP-12D4 Subwoofers. Comes in a box made by Orion themselves.
HCCA-D5000 Mono amplifier for the subs.

So what do you guys think I should go with. Any suggestions would be good as well.

Local shops around me only deal with these brands, JL audio, US amps, and a few more, but most of them are very expensive and out of my budget.

Maybe it is just me who is confused here. I thought your original post said that you already had the Eclipse components and Eclipse amp? Now you have a entirely different system planned according to option 2? DD makes a great amp that will easily power those SW7200's. Just completed that very system in a Dodge Durango the other day for one of the other bouncer's that I work with.

Yes, I do have them, but I can always return them. No problem.

As for the shops I have gone to:

Unique Visions
Audio Heaven
and Lockdown

Unique Visions are hypeing up the Eclipse line, and Audio Heaven is doing the same for Orion. Now I know both of them are good. Just wanted to know which one is better.

I can't really trust the stores, because Unique Visions doesn't sell Orion, while Audio Heaven doesn't sell Eclipse. So I am guessing it's natural for them to be bias towards their own products.

If you guys can help me that would be great.
