Sug X-OVER point for Focal TNA tweet?
got some 165 vrs focals, and a audio control 2xs, going active right away! what would be a good x over for these tweeters im thinking A pillar. i was thinking 1950hz-2000hz?

2k, your gonna kill those things.. personally I would start at atleast 3.5 to 4 k, run the mid up to that point or just slightly lower.. I wouldn't go much higher than 6 though just play with it, and see what sounds best, that part of the benefit with going active.. enjoy it!

IMO, putting those on the pillars with the mid in the door is not going to sound great either, especially at a 3k crossover point.. are the mids in the doors or?? although those tweet with a pair of super tweets in the pillars, would work well.

If they are VRS it should be the TNB tweeter... just a note..
Factory x-over is about 5 so start around there and work from there..
As for placement, the focal's work really well with the tweeters on the pillars and the mids in the doors. Best bet is to properly mount and seal up the mid as best you can in the doors/kicks. Then take the tweeters and stick them in the various places you can mount them.. pillars, dash, mirror pods, top of door, by mid etc. Listen to a few tunes in each and make notes.. you'll find the best place.
Try to seal up your door as best you can.. with mat, fibreglass, etc.. Also if you doors are really thin, I sometimes like to make a mounting ring or plate to mount onto - re-in-force the door, reduce vibratations etc that make your mid-bass etc sound not so hot!
Alot of mid/tweet sets don't sound great/image well if you move the tweeter and mid to far apart, and so could/can the focals, but if you spend a little time listening first, you'll find the right spot.
Some companies do sell "super tweeters" and "tune up" tweeters etc etc.. usually band-aids to fix problems etc.. But if thats what works for them great. I like to keep it simpler, less stuff to mount/aim/tune etc the better. Unless you have alot of time on your hands And some extra $$$ to blow I guess..

Car Audio/Stereo at SoundDomain: Focal
factory is 3.5k at 6DB, 4.2 at 12DB, audio control2xs is active 18DB
i just dont want to ruin them with to low of a Xover
PS i will be using a Alpine MRV-F545 to power the pair.
