Man, 30hz up front, I'm jealous!
As you can see from the link the driver does 30 Hz (down quite a few dB). BUT I have .5 cu ft enclosures and the floor of my car gives me a bass hump so I have too much bass (ill defined and lumpy even) so worse than too little bass is too much low quality sub-bass. I just dick with the Xover and give all the sub 60 Hz to the sub. Sub bass from up front has never been a priority and so far has been an annoyance.

Congrats DEFRO !!!! Well done !!!! You're one of the few that has an Alpine F#1 system AND a sub up-front. I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks.

Brandon,

He's got more experience with this stuff than I do, so I'm inclined to at least respect his comments.

Dereck,

It seems that every top competitor these days is making a positive comment about Earl's BMW. The really funny thing about Earl's car, is that it was set up as a 1 seater. It worked well from both seats, but one seat was far superior to the other. This is ironic in my mind considering the current climate of 2 seat judging. In my mind, his car laid the ground work for a lot of great minds to think outside of the car chasis. (Mark E. comes to mind.)

He did a lot of things he did to break new ground and be different, and also to spite some of the current IASCA rules at the time in hopes they would change.

I wasn't a big fan of the overdone a-pillar install either. I liked the previous system with the little elevators that came up out of the dash and then tilted towards you. That was cool.
