East Tweeter addition

Hey all, cca noob here, first time posting.

I was wondering how I should approach upgrading my current setup.

I am on a tight budget, so I'm not sure what my best bang for buck would be.

My current setup in a 2004 Acura TSX is Infinity Reference 6012si 6-1/2" in my front doors. The car originally had tweeters in the dash.

My question is it better for me to buy crossovers and tweeters to add to these speakers or should I just buy a new set of components with tweeters?

any guidance would be appreciated

That depends, are you looking for more highs or do you just not like where the sound is coming from?

I'm looking for more full sound. Lots of mids, but the highs just aren't as crisp as I would like them to be/think they should be. Theres more definition of sound on my home stereo than my car

If it were me id get a good component set and install tweets up higher(a pillar, sail panel or dash area depending on sound..)
your current speakers are coaxial im guessing? lose a lot of highs having speakers mounted down low....
do u have an amp. running the speakers now or just deck power?

Yes they are coax now. My dash already has the outputs for tweeters from the stock stereo setup, tho I am not using them now. as for power, I have a ghetto setup currently with a 2 channel RF amp running all 4 speakers off the front preout from a Pioneer deck. I am in the process of looking for a 4 channel amp to fix that

If you're missing highs you want to try to get your current speakers more on axis. Or if you do get another set of tweeters (not exactly ideal, but it depends what your goal is) try to get them on axis.
