tweeters adding to my SPL

so i have cheap components, like really cheap and they do actually sound pretty darn good but for some reason my tweeters are trying to play bass... and they crackle like crazy and im pretty sure they are already screwed up but either way, is this just from poorly designed cross overs? it only happens at really high volumes, i think maybe im just giving them a dirty signal they are being ran strait off the deck and they are rated to 50RMS at mid volume playing everything sounds great but once i turn it up to my usual noise violation ticket levels the tweeters sound like they are going to die, i have even pulled all of the bass out of the EQ settings in the deck, i do have some more playing around to do yet im thinking of increasing the levels in the deck to not have to turn the volume so high that way the deck should be sending a bit cleaner power? any help would be great guys

you're running comps off the deck?
there you go, amps in decks are shitty (not really shitty per se, but they aren't designed to pump out gobs of power, know what i mean?)
what you're hearing is probably the tiny amp in the deck distorting and soon you may have to say bye bye to your comp set or tweeter at min if you keep feeding them like that.

well considering they costs me a mind numbing $45 hahaha but yeah ok i figure either reversed polarity but we sorted that out already or just bad power.

thanks

did you flip your wires mid/tweeter
did you tap into the wires where ?
is the deck going to the stock amp then to your cross overs ?

ok heres the full run down.

we hooked up first off and they were 'poping' so i reversed the wires into the x-over which made it sound much better.

the wires are the strait from the deck to the x-over then out to the mid/tweet

there is no stock amp in my car just deck power

Sounds like cliping to me. Or distortion like previously mentioned. Basically the volume is to high and the ouput of the deck is distorted.

ok thats what i was thinking, i figured a small amp would solve the issue i just have to teach myself to keep it turned down a bit in the meant time.

I should also mention that when driving i am always listening to music from my iPod which has an internal EQ as well that i have on a setting, so im thinking maybe to much EQ stuff going on topped off with two amplified signals neither of which is really going to be all that clean, i did some playing for about 5min last night where i just set the eq on the deck flat and it seemed to help, when i change from my iPod to a cd the output level drops quite a bit so maybe that has something to do with it, it does seem to be somewhat better with just a CD meh i need an amp.. wait make that two amps hahah

the mids dont seem to be reproducing highs but id have to unhook a tweeter and listen to be completely sure, and while yes it is a SPL car i do like to listen to music occasionally haha
