When you're comparing amplifier specs you must look at how they're testing. 1000 watts @1k means nothing you're looking for 20hz to 20k. As others have said above, thd below 1% is all good, check out some specs of some great home amps and you'll see. Don't worry about the efficency of the subs unless it's incredibly low. An 89db woofer can be louder than a 92db woofer depending on box design, car etc. etc.

Power and THD is not everything. I agree as above, speakers are much more important than power, but don't get me wrong ... always follow the weakest link theory.

i dont know why your worring bout that, i was basically saying that its the numbers on the woofers you gotta look for, and yes a sub that is 89 decibles CAN(key word) be louder than a 92 decibles sub.

who built the box???

to me it always seems that the higher numbered subs do better in sq than spl, i could be wrong but i am always looking at the specs of the opponets subs and it always seems the lower numbers always seem to be the loudest
