Howdy, looking for suggestions for a set of 5.25 components to go in the stock location (door panel with tweeter in dash) for a VW Corrado. Power will be from a Hifonics Europa. Not looking for the most fantabulous speaker on the market, but something well suited to the rest of this modest system. (IDQ 10 sub, Kaption rears, stock deck) Bang for the Buck, solid performance, no hype type products preferred. reccomendations appreciated. (I like Piano, and guitars, female voice....and talk radio!!)

You know what I think the DD components are going to be awsome. They are also well priced, I think $220 for a set ain't bad. I will be getting some 6.5's and 5.2's in the Blazer soon, can't wait to hear them.

Check out the Fusion FPC-525. Dome tweets, rubber surrounds, handle lots and sound nicer for a couple of hundred, than most I've heard.

Thanks for the advice so far, I find it frustrating to listen in a stereo shop, unless they have the speakers in a car. Listening to speakers on a board is better than nuthin I suppose.

I have to agree with Dukk on this one & although display boards are more than likely the only way you're going to hear them, that should be a level playing field. In general, the speakers should sound better in the vehicle.

And now for a cheap plug from my company . Check out the TS-C130R if you have a chance:

The Hertz speaker line are quite good... even their entry level coaxial series. or the Focal Access series. One of the best value for the money. But like anything..... the installation reflects a big part of the end result.

I would say I can spend about $275 Cdn with tax. I might get weak at the knees, when faced with something clearly better and go higher though.
