I'm buying the CDA-9887. Is there someone with the Imprint system who can set it up anywhere in the east GTA?

I'm wondering how this works? Do i get somebody to run the Imprint and then save the settings? What happens if/when i upgrade something else, like speakers? Do I need to run Imprint again?

Do I really need to own the Imprint system or is there a rental?

I bought the 9887 and special ordered the HD tuner. They said it would be 2 weeks, so I'll wait for it before tearing my dash appart to install it.

Are there any shops who have an Imprint EQ and know how to run it?

Thanx,

Tom

Tom,

Not sure which shops have Imprint in the GTA.

As for saving settings... after you run the imprint program you're allowed to save 2 of 3 settings in your deck which stay saved in flash memory so even if your batt goes dead you're still fine with it being saved.

I'm not sure how shops are handling upgrades after imprint but I would only assume you have to pay just like you did the first time because it is their time. HOWEVER! if you buy the box from crutchfield you can return it within 30 days for a refund minus $50. Also anytime in the future if you do change something in yoru system you can purchase/rent the box from them again and return it for a FULL refurnd the second time. Only hitch is they may not have an Imprint box in stock...

This is the way I'm going with mine. A local shop wanted $90, which is fair for 1.5hrs of work but I'd rather spend half that and tinker with the setup myself instead of someone else doing it.

Thank you Reg, but no it wouldn't be right to buy it, use it, and return it.
What happened to ethics?

I'll keep looking for a shop that has one.

Tom,

The Hi-Fi Centre in Whitby has the Imprint set up. I was just debating on either the 9887 or the X100 for a friends Vette. Imprint being one of the differences.

Anyways ...... Whitby Hi-Fi Center does have the unit.

Later,
Brad
