Whitby HiFi Center had the unit and even though i made an appointment over a week in advance, they didn't have anything ready. They had to send the girl home to get her laptop because the Imprint won't run on Vista.
It took an hour and a half of screwing around with computer settups and port drivers and calls to customer support before he finally tried it with the head unit on and connected. Doh! Turns out it would have run on Vista just fine had he turned on the power.

It sounds pretty good. I saved 2 settings, reference and linear. Hi end highs are clearer, and low end of subs are smoother. It is an improvement over what i had, but I did a pretty good job of setup myself.
It's a huge improvement over the factory settings.
Now the simple bass and treble are really easy to get to which is great for older CD's that are missing highs or lows.
For my listening tastes, I faded the rear down some and the turned the subs up a bit, now it sounds great!!

Anybody else who hass the 9887, I fully recommend getting the Imprint done.

How much did it cost you?

the kxt-100eq is NOT vista compatible, needs xp. we already tried it here and no workie with vista at all.

and he tried it on his vista laptop after he had mine set up. looked like it worked to me, but i wasn't the one running it.

Just joined this forum because I found your thread on the KTX-100EQ. I recently installed a CDA-9887, and had it imprinted initially by the Hi-Fi Centre in Whitby, but wasn't particularly impressed with the result. After adding some dynamat and a sub, I purchased my own 100EQ and repeated the calibration. Fantastic results! :)

I don't know if there are any experts on the unit here, but I'm trying to find out whether I can store curves from two separate calibration runs. I'd like one curve optimized for the drivers location, and another performed for the whole vehicle to use when I have passengers. Seems like a simple thing to do, but the supplied software is pretty brain-dead in terms of features. It would also be nice to get the settings from the calibration so you could try using those as a base for further tweaking.

The quick answer in no, I also have a copy of KTX-100EQ, & I wasn't impressed with the results, I've tried researching the exact same question as you, but the software is designed to measure & then upload the curves to the hu, you cannot save any results & then retrieve them later.

Once the measurements are done the software asks you to choose one of three curves and to assign them to a memory location on the deck "Curve 1" or "Curve 2".
You can do one set of measurements focusing on the drivers seat and store your selected curve in "Curve 1" and then run another set of measurements with the focus on the whole car and store your selected curve for those measurements in "Curve 2".
Piece of cake. As long as you have a couple of hours to kill.

We did an H2 and kept the Imprint in the glove box. When we want to bring it to a show, we do a quick calibration to the drivers side. The sound is just magical! Then we send the customer home with a re-cal to the fronts so that his family can enjoy it too.
