Very nice gear, there's nothing wrong with your CDTs.

Jamie and JohnVroom speak the truth.

DLS

Have fun, you are off to a great start.

DLS iridiums... very sexy speakers.

The focal tweets can be a biotch from what I've heard.

don't take it from me......look at the past in SQ competiton:

Amount of Winners using DLS, or Focal.....alot
Amount of Consistant winners using DLS or Focal...alot

Anyone know of anyone who has ever won a national with CDT ?

In the competition world, if CDT was the close to being a top choice then the top people would have them, because those types are trying and testing everything they can to better thier car........but no one has used them and keep them in.

top choices for me, again you ned to buy the best ones of these lines:

DLS
Focal
JL XR
MB Quart
Dynaudio
Image Dynamics

^ Those are some of the very best sounding brands (I really like the prop for the inexpensive JL it IS good!)

But I will throw one wrench, last year I heard two systems that were EXCELLENT and they were using mass-market stuff. One was an all Sony xplode system (custom xover) and the other was a Panasonic system (HU and $89 speakers (I don’t know who’s amps/wires)). They were a sonic cut above many (including my own for some of the year) and they used "crap" mass-market stuff. So having good stuff is only part of the fight.

Hint taken Jamie. My CDT's are going on ebay!

Can you be more specific on the exact speaker models of the manufacturers you listed above?

For the Focal, is it this: FOCAL UTOPIA 165W COMPONENT 6.5" ?

What about the image dynamics one? I have no idea which model you are referring to. Since I will be getting Image Dynamics subs, I may as well stick to Image Dynamics for the front components.

the ID HLCD's are their top end stuff, they can sound really good, but need a lot of setup time.
