I want to put my system in my 05 Pontiac Grand Prix but I've heard numerous rumours about moving the stock H/U to the trunk.

What all has to be done to do this?

You do not need to do this anymore. There are modules that interface with the factory Class 2 Data system. Future Shop sells three versions of it for GMs depending on what OEM System you have (Bose, Onstar).
