2 15 inch subs in trunk of 03 Cavalier

Hey guys I was curious to see if anyone has tried or seen 2 15" subs in the trunk of a 03 cavalier or car similar. I figure I will have to cut out the bracing in the corners behind the rear seat. I will need the seats to still be able to fold up as i have a kid with car seat still. If anyone has any kinda pointers or even pictures if an install like this would be greatly apreciated.

it is do-able, I did a sunfire a couple yrs ago, managed to get 9 ft^3 out of it. Not a pile of room left for port area though.... I don't have any pictures though. There was a fair bit of cutting and if I remember right the guy that owned the car modified the trunk hinges for more clearance too

I'm assuming yours is close to the 97 Cavi I used to have and it's going to be a stretch to get enough space in there. It will need to be built in the car as both openings are going to be out of the question. Personally I would look at doing a single 15 or 2 12s before trying 2 15s. Is it a 2 or 4 door? With a 2door remove the front seats and trim the excess metal away from the opening into the trunk and you can get a fairly big box through there. We managed to get a 4.5 cube box into my Cavi like that. It was built to perfectly slide through the opening and fit right to the rear. Anywhere near 9 cubes is going to require some extensive fabrication.

Not trying to be a dick but is it really wise to start cutting away at support and bracing in the car closest to where your child will be fastened in in case of an accident?

Just something I'd take under consideration.

its not any kind of structual part of the car, i went to the dealership and talked with the guys in the back as that was my thought aswell. Its basically there for some plastic trim pieces to attach to and serves no other purpose.

Yes you are correct, there was a lot of modification required to get that size enclosure, well beyond trimming the corners out of the trunk opening.

Nice choice in sub, I may be kinda partial to the Mach 5 stuff

Unfortunately that sub is long gone. I did not want to have to buy a 1500w amp, nor that much bass in the new car. I also had a free new in box American Bass 12 that only needs 4-600w in a small ported prefab box. The first show we are at come check it out I think this setup for SQ hit it on the head.
