however you do stand to loose that beutifull door chime and the dealer wont be able to read diagnostic codes on the radio display he will have to do it the old fash way you do however have to run an ign wire to the dash from the collum for the head.
You can't read diagnostic code from the HU( you need to have a DIC screen found on some Cadi or C5 vette to read the DTC)and yes you will lose the chime except if you buy a chime module. And use the fuse box (not collum)for the acc wire(not the ign wire).

Diagnostics work just fine without the T-Harness. I had a diagnostics test done on my 2000 Z24 just the other day and it worked perfectly.
