Guys,

I just bought my wife a new cd player for her 2002 Mazda protege. I just "borrowed" her car to try and pull the old deck out, but the bezel is hard to remove. It appears to be attached by the heater control wiring or pulley cables. All the clips are pulled out but the bezel won't come out more than an inch or so.

What am I missing.

 

Didn't you squeeze a sub into your dash?

 

Cheeky I know... dig deep into the metra website and read the .pdf for the dash kit, your clue may be in there.

 

I did fit a sub in my dash. Different car different problem.

I'm guessing ther is a plug or clip that I cant see, that will make it possible to remove the bezel. I will be working on the car once my wife goes to bed. I'd like to know what I'm up against.

 

Looks like metra is suggesting using 4 ford removal tools (not just 2 if you tried that)

Never had to do one, hope this can help

 

I decided to go a different route and not tke the bezel off. I wanted to put the mic for the Bluetooth in the bezel but I ran out of time and just mounted by the sun visor.
