Hi, I was planning on changing my head unit in my car. I was reading the owners manual and it said that the car's security system will sound if someone cuts the wires to steal your radio. I want to change it but I still want the security system to work. Is there anything that I would have to do when I am changing the unit? ie. short wires or anything like that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

correct me if I'm wrong but your alarm will sound once they break the window and open the door. And another thing... not sure about the EL but in my 01 CL-S you have to spend about 15 minutes taking apart the whole center console to get to the factory bose unit.
